School Year
The Children's Place follows the Denton ISD calendar as closely as possible. We follow the same holiday and break schedule as DISD, with the exception of a few dates that we will notify all families of ahead of time. A calendar of specific dates including early releases, planned school closings, special events, and more will be provided to our families at the beginning of each semester.
Hours of Operation
Extended Day Options and Enrichment Opportunities
Both of our extended day programs have been temporarily suspended due to Covid-19. Should things change at any point in the school year, we will do our best to re-open these programs as quickly as possible.
Stay-n-Play - Each day (from 11:45am-12:45pm) children enrolled in our 3's, 4's, and Pre-K classes may sign-up for this extended day option. When their regular class is dismissed, a teacher will walk the students to the kitchen in the Recreation Building. The students will eat a lunch from home and then have playtime in the gym or the playground. Sign up for this is available on a daily basis. Payment for this program will be billed on the 2nd and last Friday of each month based on the number of times your child stayed during that 2-3 week period.
Afternoon Book Club - Book Club begins at 12:45pm each day and ends at 2:15pm. Book club students will go to Stay-n-Play from 11:45am-12:45pm with the exception of Kindergarten. This is a literacy based enrichment program focusing on many different styles of children's literature selected from The Children's Place library. Daily activities are based on the theme, characters, and setting of the weekly literature selection. Daily activities include but are not limited to: gross and fine motor play/games, puzzles, arts and crafts, cooking, and more. Children must be enrolled in our 3's, 4's, Pre-K, or Kindergarten classes to attend; children must also be potty-trained. Registration is on a weekly basis and can be done by locating the weekly sign-up sheet in our recreation building.
